League Pinball Machines
● Each week there will be 5 rounds of play
● Round One pinball machines will be determined and assigned by the 2CP Tournament Director that evening of play.
● All subsequent rounds of pinball machines shall be chosen by the winner(s) of each previous round. The order in which a game shall be chosen by the previous winner(s) will be determined by the Round Groupings order as created by Match-Play, and where that previous winner is assigned. IF the next grouping contains more than one previous winner within it, the previous winning player with the highest play order (as determined by Match Play) will have the game choice. If a pairing does NOT contain any previous winner, then that grouping’s assigned game will be chosen by the 2nd place finisher from the previous round.
● If the pinball machine chosen for a round is being played by someone from public play, the player who chose the machine can decide to either wait for the game to become available (ONLY if that game in play is on ball 2 or 3) OR must choose a game that is readily available.
● Since League Play is happening during public play, AND GAME SELECTIONS WILL BE ‘ON THE FLY’, all games will be on Standard Play, as well as have extra balls enabled. All other IFPA rules will be followed for consistency.
● Any previous winner’s game selection CANNOT be picked again by that same winner for any subsequent rounds for that week.
● Each League Night, the assigned pinball machines for ROUND ONE will be clearly marked for the start of League play, and then removed once round one is completed.
● Any Open Play attendees will be notified that any assigned Round One games will NOT be available for play UNTIL round one is completed. However, League Members ONLY may practice on the assigned Round One games until the league starts.
Arrival and Start Times
● ALL League players MUST pay $25 at the registration desk and then check in at the Pin Hall desk with Matt or Kevin.
● The League play starts promptly at 6:30PM and is estimated to run at least 2 hours.
● We encourage League players to arrive no later than 6:15pm. Open Play at the PinHall starts at 5:30PM.
Attendance
● Players in the league are expected to attend all LEAGUE NIGHTS, but it is understandable that there might be a night that is not possible for a player to attend. As such, each player’s lowest weekly score will be dropped across the 6 weeks of play (basically, only 5 weeks of play will be counted towards the final standings). This allows the flexibility of missing a league night, while at the same time rewards players for attending all nights.
● Any player that misses a League Night will receive zero points for that week’s competition.
League Play and Rules
● Each pin is set for 3-balls, with Standard Play Mode AND extra balls allowed. The extra ball will be played per each game’s standard rules (either immediately after the initial ball in play drains, OR at the end of ball 3 (GnR for example).
● General Rules- League players:
· MUST NOT interfere with any other League player’s gameplay
· MUST patiently wait and allow the current player space to compete when waiting to play an assigned game
· MUST NOT engage in any discussion during a league player’s gameplay (unless such competitor initiates the conversation).
· Are allowed to watch others compete, but interference is NOT ALLOWED.
· Are allowed to play any other games within the hall when waiting for their turn/game allocation.
· Are allowed to discuss any pinball tactics PRIOR to starting their three attempts of competition. However, outside “coaching” during actual gameplay is NOT ALLOWED.
Scoring and Finals
● Players earn points based on their finishing position on each machine.
● The Points system used for each week’s session will be as follows: IFPA scoring 7/5/3/1 (4 player match) - 7 points awarded for 1st highest score, 5 points for second, 3 points for third, and 1 point for 4th. (3 player match = 7/4/1 scoring)
● The total points accumulated each week will determine each player's standings.
● Each player will have their lowest one-week accumulated score dropped for the Finals Standings
● If after the six weeks of play there is a tie, any ties will be resolved by a one-ball playoff between the affected players on an assigned machine. If this playoff does not resolve the tie, additional balls will be played until the tie is broken.
● FINALS AND LEAGUE PARTY: Will be held on Friday, October 16th from 6:00pm until 10:00pm. This is a Private Event, closed to the public. The players will be broken down into three Brackets based on their League standing at the end of week 6:
· Bracket A (Top 4 players - Players 1-4 ranked by highest overall points)
· Bracket B (Second 4 players - Players 5-8 ranked by highest overall points)
· Bracket C (all remaining players)
There are two separate Cash purses for Bracket A and Bracket B and Bracket C winner will receive a Gift Certificate for a 2CP Unlimited Admission. Each player competing in Brackets A and B will receive a portion of the cash purse dependent on the final ranking in their Bracket. ALL Finals Brackets will be a Match-Play across three (3) machines where the games will be chosen by the 2CP Tournament Director. Match-Play Finals will use the same IFPA 7/5/3/1 linear scoring format. If a tie occurs for any place after 3 rounds of play, there will be a single game final death playoff, where the player with the best score at the end of 3-balls is declared the winner. Bracket C Finals will play their 3 Rounds first, Bracket B finals will play their 3 rounds after Bracket C winners are determined and Bracket A Finals will play their 3 rounds after Bracket B winners are determined.
These rules are a guide. At times situations will arise that aren’t specifically covered by these rules. In these cases, the League Admin should make a decision in the spirit of the rules. This decision shall be documented for later reference, and be applied consistently should the situation arise again.
