Two Cousins, Matt and Kevin, were first introduced to pinballs, specifically F-14 Tomcat and High Speed, at the arcade in the local shopping mall when they were kids. As most people our age know, not too long after pinballs appeared in the arcades, they were being replaced quickly by the likes of Pac-Man and Asteroids, and soon, pinballs started to simply disappear. Arcades eventually began closing mainly due to the rise of the home gaming systems. Years later the ability to see, let alone play a pinball, disappeared.
In spring of 2021 Matt had this idea of adding a pinball machine to his recreation room. He sent some links to Kevin of a Williams Indiana Jones machine (Matt’s favorite movie series). "Really, a pinball machine? We don't know anything about them” was Kevin’s response. A few nights later as they were playing pool, adding dead soldiers to the bar top and losing more sense of reason, Matt decided to buy Indiana Jones and with a single ping, the first pinball was acquired. Matt and Kevin went on an 8 hour road trip to pick up Indiana Jones. Once they got the game home, after they figured out how to set up and turn the game on, they couldn't stop playing, soaking in all the shots, lights, challenges, and call outs. They were both hooked!. For the next 2 or 3 weeks, they spent at least 4 nights a week, playing way past midnight and couldn't get enough of the game.
One month after getting Indiana Jones, Kevin started his own adventure browsing the internet everyday looking at pinballs for sale and watching pinball gameplay videos on-line where he fell in love with the The Munsters pinball. He found the exact game he wanted but the ad said Sale Pending. He messaged the seller anyways but the game was sold. Three days later the seller contacted Kevin that the original sale fell through and Kevin finalized the purchase of The Munsters, his first pinball!
Indiana Jones and The Munsters started the Two Cousins Pinball obsession. After attending several pinball shows, playing in tournaments, and purchasing many more pinball machines, the Two Cousins are beyond hooked. For the Two Cousins this industry has been addictive, educational, exciting, therapeutic, and the relationships they have made with both locals and pinball enthusiasts from across the country has been priceless. Kevin and Matt have a renewed love for this hobby. For them sharing and educating others on the pinball industry has become just as exciting as playing actual pinball machines themselves. During 2024 Kevin and Matt decided to start Two Cousins Pinball so others can share the experience of pinball and have a location to get together. The vision of Two Cousins Pinball is more than just playing pinball; it is the getting together that is the main event.
